At the end of September 2015, and recently being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I was desperate to find some extra form of activity and meet people locally. For the previous 3 years, I had kept diabetes at bay via exercise and diet, but sadly as I aged,( I am now 72 yrs old,) it became harder and harder to do it by myself.
The work the instructor leads us through at Vitality can easily be fitted into our daily lives. I find myself doing the exercises and movements to the radio as I go about my household tasks. We are advised about the movements and activities which will prevent poor posture and encouraged in activities which will strengthen muscles and bones and prevent accidents in later life. Although I acknowledge I am diabetic, I am not yet taking medication, I firmly believe the classes have helped me hold on to good health.

On a purely social level, I am meeting the friendly and outgoing neighbours.
